1.Import a data (product) feed file:

  • Import a data (product) feed file: Import a data (product) feed file for conversions. This example shows how to convert a data feed file in specification of Shopping website into a data feed file in specification of Google shopping (Google products feed specification – the standard data feed specification used in Data Lizard).
  • Select a save folder: Select a save folder for saving the output converted data feed files, and you can also use the default folder of Data Feed Converter v2.3.
  • Choose a conversion mode: Data Feed Converter v2.3 supports two conversion modes: 1) The file type conversions; 2) The data feed specification conversions. You can batch convert your data feed files: 1) Convert a data feed file into several other data feed files conforming to different data feed specifications at a time; 2) Convert a data feed file into several data feed files in different file types. Here, we take the conversion a data feed file from Shopping specification to Google products feed specification as an example.
  • Mail your data feed sample to us: If your data feed specification is not supported by Data Feed Converter v2.3, please click "Mail Your Feed Sample to US", and we will add this feed specification for you as a plugin of the Data Feed Converter v2.3 (up to 100 data items in your data feed samples are enough for us to analyse).

Please note: If your local machine didn’t install MS office, the file type converter of Data Feed Converter v2.3 cannot support conversions for Excel and Word files.

2.Match data fields:

  • Match data fields of data (product) items between input and output data feed files: According to user requirements, users can match data fields in an input data feed file with data fields in the corresponding output data feed file from the drop-down list. For those input data fields, if users didn’t match them, they will be directly preserved in the output data feed file generated by Data Feed Converter v2.3. More importantly, Data Feed Converter v2.3 can record users’ historical data field matching setups for future automated data field matches. This means you only need to setup data field matches one time for same conversions. In this example, all necessary data field matches between a data feed file conforming to Shopping specification and a data feed file conforming to Google shopping products feed specification is listed in the following table:
    Input data fields for Shopping
    • Product
    • UPC
    • Product_Name
    • Current_Price
    • Category_Name
    • Manufacturer
Output data fields for Google (Data Lizard)
    • item
    • g:id
    • title
    • g:price
    • g:product_type
    • g:brand
  • Edit the XML structure: If both input and output data feed files are in .xml type, users can also edit the XML structure of their output data feed files: 1) right mouse click to show the popup menu; 2) select an edit operation on this menu ("Add a Child Node", "Delete This Node", "Clear Children Node", etc.)
  • Disable a data field: Disable a data field.
